June 9, 2021 – Emergency Supply Delivery

On June 9th three volunteers with the North Carolina Volunteer Rescue Pilot group assisted the Wake Forest Fire Department with the delivery of critical air tanks needed by the department.

The flight in the Beechcraft Barron twin-engine airplane was from Louisburg, North Carolina to Asheville, North Carolina. We were on the ground for about 20 minutes before returning.

The unusual aspect of the mission was avoiding the groundhog near the runway in Asheville as we touched down.

The tanks were loaded in the aircraft for a 1 hour 15-minute return flight where the tanks were transported to the Wake Forest Fire Department.
