Requests

We only accept requests from North Carolina public safety agencies for assistance. We do not provide assistance to members of the general public.

To keep everyone as safe as possible each pilot has the individual authority to reject any mission if they feel it is unsafe to fly. As FAA pilots we are bound by Federal Aviation Regulations. The two most important regulations might just be:

  • 14 CFR 91.3 – The pilot in command of an aircraft is directly responsible for, and is the final authority as to, the operation of that aircraft.
  • 14 CFR 91.13 – No person may operate an aircraft in a careless or reckless manner so as to endanger the life or property of another.

Even though most of our airplane pilots are Commercial and Instrument rated pilots, in general, we do not fly any missions at night unless it is an absolute emergency that is time-sensitive.
